THE CONNECTOR joins AIESEC Legon at the Career Summit in Ghana. The event is themed 'Grooming the Next Generation of Leaders' and THE CONNECTOR anchors the topic 'Developing the Enterpreneural Eye' led by our Chief Operations Officer - Habiba Afonja.

Using this medium, we are giving students the opportunity to make regular article contributions to our website under various topics, either as peer reviewed articles or casual reads (to be discussed further).

The discussion will feature topics that help entreprenuers feel comfortable with their choices, identify their direction as entrepreneurs and taking a stand, maximising the benefits of friends, family and employees in business and many more.

The discussion of the topic will last for 30 minutes with additional 10 minutes for questions and comments (40 minutes in total).

The Speakers

Albert Ocran
He is the Chief Executive of Combert Impressions, Ltd, a cutting-edge printing company based in Accra, Ghana. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Albert lectures part-time in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Planning and serves as a motivational speaker and leadership consultant. He plays an advisory role to a number of business organizations. Albert is married to Comfort, with whom he has three children. Together they have authored three books, 10 Commandments of Success, Go and Owe No More and Building Your Dream Business (from www.africaleadershipinitiative.net)

Juliet Asante
A native of Ghana, is the founder and CEO of Eagle Productions Ltd., a prominent production company on the Ghanaian television scene. She also heads the Eagle Drama College, a subsidiary. Ms. Asante is the founder and director of Save Our Women International and serves as president of Women in Film and Television Ghana (WIFT). She currently writes and directs one of the nation's most successful TV soap operas, Secrets. An alumna of the State Department/Fortune mentorship program and editor of the Entertainment Today Magazine, she won an award from the Ghana Film Industry for Best Actress in 2001 and acted in the HBO feature film, Deadly Voyage. Ms. Asante is a member of the World Economic Forum's entertainment council. Educated in Ghana, she also earned a diploma in acting from the New York Film Academy (from http://exchanges.state.gov)

Habiba Afonja

She is the Chief Operations Officer of The Connector Ltd and American Hospitals and Resorts Ltd, two Nigerian based businesses and seats on the board of 4 other companies in executive management capacity. She leads the operations and finance team on the Niger American Medical City (now Abuja Health Care City) from the preliminary stage till date on strategy building, project planning, staffing, modeling and seeking finance. She led the team in raising debt and equity finance and brand creation and management for three and five star (Suite and Condo) hotels in Lagos and Abuja, as an analyst and adviser, including Hawthorn Suites, Lagos and Abuja and Amana Suites.
Her project management portfolio currently covers 4 projects in Tanzania, 1 in Ghana, 2 in Nigeria and the United States. She is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom, has a BSc. Accounting with Business Law and MSc. Finance and Financial Decision Analysis. She has professional affiliations with the ACCA and is a Certified Public Private Partnership Specialist. She has attended short courses on project management, real estate finance and investment strategy, Public Private Partnership and corporate taxation (provided by THE CONNECTOR)
